Get your green on. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and we cannot wait to celebrate. Even if you are not Irish, you can still celebrate with your friends at many events in the Los Angeles area. Los Angeles knows how to party, and we have found some great events throughout the next week. So go find your green shirt and beads, you are going to have a great time!

The St. Patrick’s Day parade is an event that everyone looks forward to all year. Green is everywhere as we see some of our favorite local floats and celebrities ride through South Bay. The St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on March 12th this year. It is only an hour from your home at The Glendon. The parade starts around 11 am and features local officials, Irish dancers and more.

Casey's St. Patrick's Day Street Festival in Downtown LA is from 6am to 2am on March 17th. This festival features food, drinks and games all day long. It is even free admission before 3:30pm. This event will be held at 613 South Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA with an entrance at Wilshire and Hope.

Rock & Reilly's St. Paddy's Day Block Party will be held this year on March 12th from 1-10pm. The party benefits Pencils of Promise. You can hang out hear DJ’s, enjoy food trucks and enjoy 8 bars with 100 kegs of green beer. The party is held in the back lot behind Rock & Reilly’s in West Hollywood. Make sure to get there early because entrance availability is subject to capacity.

Irish Bars

If you want to get your Irish on at a local bar, Los Angeles has a few to choose from. You can always go to Finn McCool’s. You can listen to their Irish bands while enjoying Irish food and drinks all day long.

We hope you have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family in Los Angeles.

The Perfect Super Bowl Party

Image From Pixabay
Will you be throwing a Super Bowl party this year? The big game is a little over a week away. Even if your team is not in the game, it is still fun to watch the commercials, eat tons of food and party with friends. The Carolina Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos Sunday, February 7th. Send out your invites now, so you can celebrate the 50th Super Bowl. What makes the perfect Super Bowl party? We have some ideas.

Appetizers:

Guacamole and Chips:

A classic appetizer for any event, guacamole and chips are the perfect starter for your party. Head to Trader Joes near Palazzo Westwood to get your hands on all the necessary ingredients. This recipe is super easy. Take all of the ingredients listed on the RealSimple recipe, then stir them in a bowl. Once the mixture is done, you have you guacamole. Choose your favorite chip and serve it to all of your friends and family.

Main Dish:

We love themes, and the Super Bowl is the perfect opportunity to really theme out. We recommend picking one team and serving a traditional dish from that area of the United States.

DENVER

Did you know that the Cheeseburger was trademarked in Denver? The trademark for the name cheeseburger is listed with Humpty Dumpty Drive-In in Denver, Colorado in 1935.  We recommend making mini-cheeseburgers for your main Super Bowl dish if you are rooting for Denver.

CAROLINA

If your are rooting for Carolina, we recommend a classic BBQ recipe. Everyone goes south for BBQ ribs and wings. Ribs are not hard to make. We have found a great Sweet Carolina Rib recipe for your crock pot. This will allow you to start the food in the morning, and it will be ready by kickoff.

Drinks:

Drinks are pretty easy for the Super Bowl, most people want to grab a cold one from the fridge. Take this up a notch with different beers from the Super Bowl Area. San Francisco has some great beers that you can order or get at your local store. We recommend checking our Anchor Brewing. They have a great selection, and it will add to the Super Bowl theme.

These are just a few ideas to make your Super Bowl party one that everyone will remember. What are you adding to your Super Bowl party?

Happy Halloween in Los Angeles

Are you excited for Halloween? Whether you are dressing up as a devil, a witch or a celebrity, Los Angeles has some amazing events for you to celebrate the night of the living dead. Palazzo Westwood is in a great location to be able to get to all of these local events. Check them out and have a great Halloween in Los Angeles.

This is not the kid-friendly hayride that you remember. There will be no pumpkins or silly scarecrows making you laugh. This Haunted Hayride brings together every fear you have as you ride throughout Griffith Park. This long hayride takes you on a journey themed around "Boogeyman". These nightmarish characters can surprise you from anywhere throughout your ride. It also many scare zones and a pitch black maze for you to add to your adventure.

This is not just your typical haunted attraction. This is Halloween Horror nights at Universal Studios. There is a Crimson Peak: Maze of Madness based on the new Guillermo del Toro film. Visitors will explore the decaying remains of a Victorian labyrinth. You can also experience the classic Halloween attractions such as Insidious, Halloween and The Walking Dead. Do not forget to make time for the Terror Tram through the backlot. That is an attraction you will never forget.

Do not forget about the largest Halloween street party in the world. This is one of the best places to be on October 31st. Over a half million people gather in their favorite costumes to celebrate this spooky night once a year. There is dancing, drinking and parade costume contests. Make sure to see the crowing of the "Queen of the Carnival". Also, don't be surprised if their are special guests. In 2011, MTV surprised the crowd with a pop-up Robyn concert.

These are just a few of the great events throughout Los Angeles. This city really knows how to celebrate this spooky night once a year. Do you have an event that you are attending? Share the details on the Palazzo Westwood Facebook Page.
